Best of all, for those of you there last year, the weather is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL tomorrow!  No 95 and cloudless picnics to worry about, it’s supposed to be sunny and 70, perfect picnic weather!

If you’re planning on joining us tomorrow (and we hope you are!) here are some things to remember:

1. The PQL is providing burgers, dogs, condiments, plates and utensils, and soda and water.  We’re asking that everyone bring something to share, and we’re not judging you on the quality of your dish.  If you don’t like to cook, Giant Eagle is open 24 hours a day!!

2. We’ll be there around 2pm.  Our time table is pretty lax.  We’ll eat, play Quidditch, hang out, maybe not in that order.  If you work until 4 and think “I shouldn’t bother to even show up”, that’s the wrong answer.  Show up, we’ll still be there!!

3. Please bring friends, even if they’ve never seen a Quidditch match before.  Entice them with free food and the promise of meeting some of the most interesting people you know.  If we’re not interesting enough for them, we’ll make up stories.

4. Directions to the field can be found here.  We’ll be taking over the pavilions there too, so no need to look anywhere else.

5. Other picnic games are completely acceptable.  We are not game snobs who believe Quidditch is the only game worth playing.  If you have a badminton set and want to bring it, BRING IT!  If anyone has the ability to set up a tv/DVD player we can teach you the fantastic Japanese betting game known as Banzai!

That just about wraps it up!  We can’t wait to see everyone!!!!!!!!  So pumped for tomorrow!!!!

Isn’t it so great to ease back into those Quidditch cleats and know it’s time for the season to start again??

WELCOME BACK QUIDDITCH LOVERS!  The PQL is so psyched to be back for our second full season of Quidditch!  We love how many returning members we have, and are pumped to see so many new folks lining up to learn how to play Quidditch for the first time.

In case you can’t tell, we love this sport!

If you missed last Monday’s game, let us fill you in a little…we had 12 people there, which is great for an opening game, on a school night, in the spring, when we had to start an hour earlier than normal…that group of 12 included 5 new players (wowza!) marking it our biggest pull yet.  We’re getting really good at teaching people how to play Quidditch!!

With so many new member, it took awhile to figure out positions.  Lis was bumped to Keeper (yikes!) Zach destroyed the defense with several well-placed goals.  And Amy continued to inialate the opposing team’s offense with some well-placed Bludgers.  *happy sigh*  It is SO good to be back!

If you missed Monday’s game, we hope to see you next Monday, April 29th, for our second game of the season.  Start time at 6:30pm.  Wings, fries, and good times to follow at the North Park Lounge.

Second off, consider this our “second source” for information.  Information about the PQL eventually makes its way over here, but your first place for Quidditch information is our Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/thepql.  If you haven’t liked us already, we suggest you head on over and make that a priority.  We won’t blow your news feed up, and we try to keep our posts either informative or entertaining.

That being said, we’ve finally nailed down a start time for the Snow Bowl: 11am.  A bit early, but we’re hoping it will be the warmest part of the day, so none of us freeze too badly.

It’s finally here, the announcement we’ve been waiting all month to tell you about!

Mark your calendar now, December 29th we will be hosting our first annual Snow Bowl.  Lots of Quidditch, lots of friends, lots of fun things for everyone, lots of cold weather and hopefully snow!  We’re still hammering out all of the details to try to make this an amazing event for everyone, but make sure you don’t miss all the fun as we celebrate the end of the 2012 season in style!

Just a reminder to everyone, if you’ve never played Quidditch before but are looking for a league to play in, this is a great opportunity for old and new players alike!  Even if you’ve never played Quidditch before, come join us for our Snow Bowl.  There will be prizes, laughter, and, best of all, lots and lots of freezing cold Quidditch!
